Most AI immediately tries to solve your problem. Smriti does something harder — she stays with you in it. No unsolicited advice. No rushing toward a conclusion. Just presence.
The problem
AI is trained to answer. Not to hear.
General-purpose AI models are optimized for output — they want to produce something helpful as fast as possible. Ask about a difficult situation, and within two sentences you'll have a list of suggestions.
But that's not what most people need most of the time. Sometimes you don't want advice. Sometimes you just want to say it out loud to something that will stay in the room with you.
Smriti is built differently. Listening is not a feature. It is the whole architecture.
What Smriti never does

How she listens
Two modes. One purpose.
Observation mode
She notices.
Sometimes Smriti reflects back what she hears — not to diagnose or interpret, but to show you that she was paying attention. A word you repeated. A feeling underneath what you said. An observation that opens something new.
Curiosity mode
She asks.
When a question would open something up, Smriti asks — one question, precisely placed. Never two at once. Never a question that pushes you somewhere you didn't invite her to go.
She reads each moment and decides which to use. The architecture handles this — not the prompt. That is what makes her feel present rather than scripted.
